Austin, 91, Somerset, died Oct. 6, 2008, at The Patriot, Somerset. Born Dec. 13, 1916, in Meyersdale, the son of Charles and Ellen Austin. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Oscar, Robert, James, Ernest, Henry and three infant brothers; sisters, Esther, Mary Jane, Nellie, Hazel, Elsie and Helen. Survived by wife, the former Jean Fullerton, to whom he was married 58 years; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1934 graduate of Meyersdale Area High School and worked until his retirement as a manager for the State of Pennsylvania, retiring in 1986. Also a member of the Meyersdale Blue Lodge 554 since 1949, where he was a past master in 1956, 1960, 1971 and 1982- 1984. Friends received 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a funeral service will be conducted aside with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Thursday.
