Born Nov. 16, 1927, in Westernport, Md., son of the late Charles and Polly (Michaels) Avery. Preceded in death by parents, one son, two brothers and one sister. Survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Joan Hay; thre children: Mrs. Michael (Constance) Sheridan of West Mifflin; Mrs. Jerry (Vickeie) Morin of Somerset; and Dennis James, at home; four grandchildren. Brother of: Theodore of Jenners; Mrs. Lorna Pugh and Mrs. Nellie Basye, both of Acosta; and Luther of Dover, Pa. Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club and the Jenners Brethren Church. A former coal worker and equipment operator for PennDOT. Friends were received Sunday and will be received until time of service at 2pm today (Monday) at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, the Rev. Max DeArmey officiating.
