  Lewis A. "Mike" Avery Sr. 69, 41 Middle St., Jenners, died June 24, 1984,
  at home.  Born Dec. 26, 1914, in Beryl, WVa., son of Charles and Polly
  (Michaels) Avery.  Preceded in death by parents and infant daughter, Betty,
  Survived by widow, Evelyn F. Harris; and these children: Nancy, wife of
  Harold Bell, Seattle, Wash,; Kennet, married to the former Joyce Taylor,
  Prince Frederick, Md.; David, married to the former Barbara Beal, Kicthner,
  Ontario, Canada; Lewis A. Jr., married to the former Sandra Fisher,
  Fredericksburg, Va,; Jackie, wife of Samuel Bowlin, Annandale, Va.; Cindy,
  wife of Gary Speicher, Boswell RD1; 18 grandchildren; and five
  great-grandchildren.  Brother of: Nellie Basye, Lorna Pugh and James, all
  of Acosta; Theodore of Jenners; and twin brother, Luther, York.  Member of
  Jenner Grace Brethren Church and Tire Hill Local 998 UMWA Retied employee
  of Bird Coal Company, Tire Hill.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm
  Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell.  Body will be
  removed to Jenner Grace Brethren Church for viewing from 10 am Wednesday
  until time of service at 11 am, with the Rev. Max DeArmey officiating. 
  Interment Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
