Latrobe Advance Wed, Jan 06, 1886
The Meyersdale Commercial Says: Mr. John M. Bowman dropped dead at Jamestown,
Dakota, on Sunday last at 11:45 pm. Mr. Bowman was born at Wittenberg, this
county, in 1835, and his aged father still lives there. He leaves besides his
wife, six children, three of whom are boys. After leaving this county he settled
at Ligonier and was married there in 1856 to Miss Amelia Morrow, and in ? he
removed to Altoona where he conducted a prosperous mercantile business, leaving
for Dakota in 1882 for the benefit of his wife's health. Rupture of a blood
vessel in his head caused his death.
