Babcock, 67, of Hyndman RD 1, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1987, after suffering a heart attack while driving near his home. Born in Williamsport on Nov. 16, 1919, he was the son of the late George A. and Ruth M. (Frukrob) Babcock. A retired laborer in the lumber industry, Mr. Babcock moved to Hyndman from Williamsport in 1979. Surviving are one son, George A. Babcock; two daughters, Freda Babcock and Pamela Ann Babcock, both of Williamsport; three half-brothers, Thomas Eck, Charles Eck and William Eck, all of Williamsport; one half sister, Mrs. Hazel Paulson, Williamsport, two sisters, Miss Elida P. Babcock, with whom he resided, and Mrs. Katherine Gower, Sallisdaysburg, and four grandchildren. Friends were received in the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where services and committal were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ken L. Korns. Interment, Porter Cemetery, near Ellerslie. Md. The Republic, February 19, 1987 [B0001]
