Born March 24, 1916, in Boswell. Son of John and Alberta (Snajder) Baca. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 54 years, the former Mary Capazze Jan. 23, 1996; grand-daughter-in-law Barbara Baca; sister, Helen Lepley, and brothers, Walter and Stanley. Survived by: sons, James Sr. married to Betty Marone, Davidsville, and Fred of Everett; grandsons, James Jr. married to Debbie Cleary, and Stephen and fiancee Heather; great-granddaughter, Gina; brothers, Charles, married to Annabelle Todero, Camillus, N.Y., and Theodore "Ted" married to Helen Bisick, Johnstown RD, and sister-in-law, Flossie Baca of California. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Lifelong member of the former St. Stanislaus Church, currently All Saints Catholic Parish, Boswell Post 461 American Legion and SORA. Former member of the Golden Aires Senior Citizens Group. Retired employee of the Open Hearth Division, former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 30 years service. Army veteran of World War II. Having served as a Tech. Sgt. with the 32nd and the 132nd Ordnance Co. in the Battle of the Bulge. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Church,, Boswell, Rev. Father Justin Ratajczyk, OFM Conv. celebrant.
