  BACKMAN
  
  Helen Backman, 90, Gulf Lakes Estates, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Jerome,
  died June 22, 1995, at Blake Hospital, Bradenton, Fla.  Born Dec. 16, 1904, in
  Washington County, daughter of John and Margaret (Cannel) McNulty.  Preceded in
  death by parents; husband, Dr. Peter L. Backman, who died in July 1958.
  Survived by children, John Backman MD., Brookline, Mass., and Peggy Backman,
  PhD., New York City, N.Y.; also grandchildren, Thomas Backman, New York City;
  Sarai Backman, Unionville, Conn.; and William Backman, Waterville, Maine.
  Taught elementary school in Jerome.  Family received friends Sunday at George
  E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today
  (Monday), the Rev. Clarence Moore.  Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
