Born April 25, 1896 in Conemaugh Township, daughter of Austin H. and Bertha (Stufft) Hemminger. Preceded in death by parents and husband, Jacob F., who died Sept. 6, 1964, three brothers, Harry, Ned and Earl and one sister, Frieda Belle Shaffer. Survived by two children, Elma Johns of Johnstown and Earl R., married to Winifred Brant of Somerset RD 2, three grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren. Sister of Laura, the widow of William Heckman, Allegheny Lutheran Home in Johnstown; Edith Hemminger of Somerset; Samuel Hemminger of Friedens, RD 2; Annie, widow of Allen Walker, Somerset; Myra, wife of Clarence Miller of Somerset RD 3 and Mary, wife of Martin L. Griffith, Hollsopple RD 2. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Geistown and former member of St James Lutheran Church in Jenner Township where she taught Sunday School for many years. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell where service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday the Rev. Stanley E. Yoder officiating. Interment St. James Cemetery.
