"Cub" Baer, 73, of 1303 St. Paul Road, Salisbury, died June 18, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born April 4, 1925, in Jerome, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Shunk) Baer. Preceded in death by a brother, Ray, and a sister, Margaret Weaver. Survived by his wife, Edna Mae (Rhoden) Baer; a daughter, Kathy L. Baer, Salisbury, and a sister, Jane Morgan, Salisbury. Member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury. U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Was a P.O.W. in Germany. Member of American Legion, Meyersdale, and Casselman Valley Sportsmen's Club, Grantsville, Md. Retired meat cutter for Acme Market, IGA and Shop-n-Save. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 today at Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md., where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.
