  BAER 
  
  Kenneth Edgar Baer, 84, of Somerset RD 5 died Oct., 27, 1996, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Dec. 9, 1911, in Listie, Somerset Township.  Son of the late
  Sylvester Franklin and Cora Cathrine (Shaulis) Baer.  Preceded in death by
  wife, the former Jennie Mae Wechtenheiser, on Jan. 23, 1996; four infant
  children and a brother, Howard Baer.  Survived by children: Donald F. "Yogi"
  Baer, married to the former Peggy Berkey, Somerset; Mrs. James R. (Shirley
  Ann) Stiffey, Berlin RD 4, and Mrs. Vernon (Debby) Troutman, a granddaughter
  whom he raised, of Berlin RD 1. Eight grandchildren: Terry, Tracy and Todd
  Baer; Mrs. Terry (Tammy) Miller; Mrs. Brian (Tina) Dunton; Louis Gross Jr.,
  Belinda Gross, and John Stiffey.  Also seven great-grandchildren. Brother of
  Mrs. Gladys Flickinger, Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Erma Burk, Somerset RD 5; Mrs.
  Kenneth (Verna Mae) Hoffman, Somerset, and twins, Arthur E. Baer, Somerset RD
  5, and Mrs. Arlene Panasci, Somerset.  Former coal miner and self-employed 
  farmer.  He was an avid Citizens Band radio operator with the handle 
  "Sheep Ridge Farmer." Life member of Listie Volunteer Fire Company. 
  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 
  Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will 
  be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. William J. Sleasman officiating. 
  Interment, Listie Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" 
  Hospice, 651 South Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
