A lifelong resident of Somerset County, she was born in Summit Twp., on March 9, 1858, a daughter of George and Catherine (Shrader) Werner. Her husband, Daniel Baer, died many years ago. Surviving are seven children - Henry G. and Ezra R., Somerset; George E., Meyersdale; Paul D., Pittsburgh; Mrs. Edith Keefer, Meyersdale, and Emma C. and Susan M., both at home. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Herman Baker of Meyersdale R.D. 2, and a brother, Mahlon Werner of Meyersdale R.D. 1. The deceased was the oldest member of the Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church. She was also a member of the Dorcas Bible Class. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Baer home by Rev. Nelson C. Brown. Interment was made in the Reformed Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son. One of the surviving daughters, Miss Susan M. Baer, has for many years been cashier of the Meyersdale office of the Pennsylvania Electric Company, and since the recent death of James B. Hostetler, is acting manager as well as cashier of the local Penelec office. Due to her mother's death, Joe F. Livengood of Somerset was in charge of the office until after Mother Baer's funeral.
