Danny was a devoted husband, loving daddy, playful pappy, caring son, beloved brother and compassionate pastor and friend. He was an avid hunter who died of natural causes while hunting in the majestic mountains of Clinton County. Born Aug. 3, 1951, in Johnstown, son of John R. and Dorothy M. (Eppley) Bailey. Preceded in death by father and granddaughter, Rayanna. Survived by mother; wife of 30 years, the former Carol M. Henry; and these children: Scott, married to the former Menus Brown, Seattle Wash., Lori, wife of Philip Wentz, Manns Choice, Lavonne, wife of Sgt. Bradley Swan Washington, D.C., and Jodi at home; also grandchildren Briana, Alexandria, Brittany, Josiah, Harold, Christina, Scott Bethany, Henry and Daniel. Brother of Dennis J., married to the former Debbie Wilson, South Fork, Patricia, wife of Daniel Myers Jr., Beaver, and Wayne R. and fiancee, DeeDee Jartin, South Fork. A 1969 graduate of Forest Hills High School and Gale Institute of Minneapolis, Minn. Before entering ministry full time, he was a passenger service manager at the former Johnstown Cambria County Airport. He is pastor of Sipesville Church of the Brethren, where he served for 10 years., Formerly served as a part-time pastor for 10 years and served as an interim at Locust Grove and Mount Joy Church of the Brethren. Danny spread the light of Jesus' love to everyone he met. He faithfully shared his love with a depth of compassion which can only come from Jesus Christ. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, the Revs. Michael Christine and Douglas Miller officiating. Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and one hour prior to service at church. Anyone who feels God is directing them to pay tribute to Danny's memory may make a donation to the Danny Ray Bailey Memorial Fund. The fund will help fulfill Danny's wishes.
