Born Aug. 24, 1930, in Hollsopple, the son of the late Earl and Margaret (Barndt) Bailey. Preceded in death his parents; sister, Thelma; brother, Clyde and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley (Brant); daughter, Evelyn, married to Thomas Horner, Somerset; son, Clifford, married to Kathy (Gordon), Windber; son, Jeffrey, Somerset; daughter, Jennifer Shaffer, Ligonier; Clifford's children: Nicole, Michael and Tiffany; Jennifer's daughter, Estella; brothers, William, Charles and Melvin; sister, Edith, married to Race Reed; numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was employed as a snow plow driver for Somerset Township, a mechanic at Friedens Garage and a surface coal test driller for Scurfield Coal. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 8 p.m. The Rev. Charles Mahon officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
