Bair, 81, Champion, died Oct. 26, 2006, at home. He was born July 20, 1925, in Greensburg, son of the late Charles Laird and Martha (Albright) Bair. Surviving are his wife, Gladys L. (Shrader) Bair, Champion; son William C. Bair and wife, Cindy, Jeannette; daughter, Susan D. Shaler and husband, Fredrick, Hunker; three grandchildren, Staci Zugai, Stephanie Stasko and Dylan Shaler. Also survived by two sisters, Doris Wallace and husband, Russell, Dayton, Ohio; and Martha Piper and husband, Joseph, Greenville. He is a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific in the consolidation of the Solomon Islands. He was a member of Center Church of the Brethren, Champion, Amos H. Englebeck Masonic Lodge 751, Ellet, Ohio, American Legion Post 0181, Somerset. Service will be private. Arrangements handled by the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc., Youngwood.
