Baird, aged 76 years, died at his home "Hi-Point Camp," Negro Mountain, West of Grantsville, Friday morning, April 11, at 4:45 o'clock. He had been in failing health for three years and was stricken with paralysis on Saturday, April 5. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. W. E. Jobes, of Bethesda, Md., one son, James R. Baird, one grandson, Billy Jobes, and one sister, Miss Anna Baird. Mr. Baird was a resident of Uniontown for over 40 years and was a contractor for many years. When retiring he, in company with his son, J. R. Baird, purchased several acres of land and started a tourist camp on Negro Mountain, which is one of the most comfortable and attractive tourist camps on the National Highway. The funeral was held in Johnson's Chapel, Uniontown, on Sunday afternoon at 2:30; interment in the Uniontown cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 17, 1930
