Baker, 77, of Somerset died July 4, 2000 at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 5, 1922 in Mt. Savage, Md., She is the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Housel) Brown. Also preceded in death by husband Leroy Baker, sisters, Mary Dickel, Grace Hostetler, Margaret Hostetler, Leona Blough, Alice Brown and brother Carl Brown. Survived by children: Mrs. John (Marjorie) Betters of Friedens; Thomas L. Baker, married to the former Yvonne Reynolds of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; Linda Webb of Friedens; Leroy Baker Jr. and wife Patricia of Brunswick, Md.; Richard Baker married to the former Alexis Hancher; Mrs. Earl (Debra) Yoder, both of Somerset; Mrs. Don (Amy) Brisky of Listie; Mrs. Michael (Denise) Sanner of Rockwood, and Mrs. Joseph (Karen) Benedict Jr. of Somerset. Fourteen grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. Also brother Leonard Brown of San Francisco, Calif. Member of VFW Post 554 Auxiliary and F.O.E. Aerie 1801 Auxiliary. 1940 graduate of Somerset High School. Friends received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli celebrant. Committal in the Union Cemetery, Somerset. Vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:45 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 235 W. Church St., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
