Baker, well known by many in Meyersdale, died on Monday, July 15, at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Reitz, 305 Decatur Street, Cumberland, Md., following a prolonged illness. Miss Baker was a native of Rockwood, the daughter of William H. H. Baker and Lucretia (Brubaker) Baker, both deceased. Her only surviving relative is her sister, Mrs. J. W. Reitz, with whom she had resided since the death of her parents. The body was removed to Rockwood on Wednesday, where services were held in the Reformed Church, of which she was a life-long and faithful member. Interment was in the Union Cemetery at New Centerville. Among those from Meyersdale who attended the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Plitt of North Street. Meyersdale Republican, July 18, 1940
