Born Nov. 16, 1915, in Lincoln Township, Somerset County, son of the late Lorenzo and Edith (Baker) Baker. Preceded in death by brother. Survived by wife, the former Dorothy Conn; daughter, Carol Jean, married to William Humbert, Ligonier, and David Clinton, married to former Nancy Fleegle, Somerset. Brother of Edna Baumgardner, Friedens; Mrs. Lester (Viola) Shaffer and Mrs. Stanley (Ivadene) Okinsky, both of Somerset, and Ruby McClusker, Friedens; also 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Jenner Rod and Gun Club, New Baltimore Sportsmen; Trent, Bakersville and Lavansville Rod and Gun Club, and United Mine Workers of America. During his lifetime, he served with CCC camp, operated a logging company and constructed homes. Retired from Florence Mining Company, New Florence. Death ended a marriage union of 50 years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. Donald E. Krestar.
