Baker, son of Henry and Elsie (Homshell) Baker, both living and natives of Pennsylvania, died at Pocahontas, Greenville Township, Friday, June 21, at 4 a.m. He was born December 15, 1908, and was 32 years, 9 months and 6 days of age when he passed away. He is survived by his parents and three brothers, Earl, Meyersdale; Glenn, Bay City, Michigan, and Ray, of Meyersdale, R.D. 3; two sisters, Mildred, at home, and Mrs. Slva Lashley, of Mt. Savage, Md. His wife, Edith Shumaker Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Shumaker, preceded him in death three years ago, having died in 1937. Mr. Baker was a member of the Greenville Lutheran Church, of the J.O.U.A.M. Order of the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Services were held in the Greenville Lutheran Church, Sunday, June 23, at 2:30 in the afternoon. Rev. S. D. Sigler was officiating minister. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale, with W. C. Price & Son, local morticians, in charge. Because of his host of friends this was an exceedingly large funeral.
