Baker, 81, of 102 Santa Fe Street, LaVale, Md., died Sept. 5, 1980 at the Frostburg Community Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. Born in Finzel, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Layman) Baker. He was a retired construction worker for the Baughman Construction Company and a charter member of the LaVale United Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow, Agnes Williams Baker; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Kline, Salisbury; one son, Clifton Baker, Frostburg, Md., one sister, Miss Littie Baker, Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Clyde Baker, Finzel, Md.; and Walter Baker, Cumberland, and five grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, Md., where services were conducted by the Rev. E. Lawrence Miller and the Rev. R. E. Hatcher. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Frank Skidmore, Tommy Skidmore, Michael Bittner Jr., Edward McFarland, Robert Baker and Harry Bosley Jr. The Republic, September 11, 1980 [B0162]
