DANIEL BAKER

  GRANTSVILLE, MD., May 10 - Daniel Baker, aged 81 years, died at his home near 
Grantsville, on Monday, May 9.  His health had been failing for some time and he 
had been confined to his bed for several weeks.
  Mr. Baker was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Baker.  He was married to 
Miss Lydia Kemp.  He was a life-long citizen of the Maple Grove locality and a 
member, since boyhood, of the Church of the Brethren, and served many years as 
an officer in that church.
  He is survived by his wife and the following children:  Lewis, of Waterloo, 
Iowa; Mrs. Nancy Miller, Accident, Md.; W. Harvey Baker, Hillsboro, MD.; Mrs. 
Florence Pittinger, Huntington, Pa.; Irvin, Grantsville; Albert, Swanton, Md.; 
Jonas, Martinsburg, Pa., and Mrs. Effie Jane Mason, Cumberland; also by 26 
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held on 
Thursday afternoon at the Maple Grove Church, with Rev. J. E. Walls in charge.
