(Hancher) Baker, 44, of 800 East State St., Delmar Md., formerly of Boswell, died Dec. 8, 1996, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. Born Dec. 15, 1951, in Johnstown. Daughter of Alex and Wilma (Haines) Hancher. Preceded in death by mother. Survived by father of Central City; sister, Alexis, wife of Richard Baker, Somerset; nieces Melissa and Heather Dively, and devoted friend and companion, John Leonard. Member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church and auxiliaries to the volunteer fire department and VFW, all of Delmar. Graduate of the former Jenner-Boswell High School Class of 1969 and the Lillian Kaufman School of Nursing, Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, Class of 1972. Received BS degree in nursing from Salisbury (Md.) State University and master's degree from Wilmington (Del.) College. Currently served as trauma coordinator for Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Rev. John K. Timm officiating.
