Baker, 72, Somerset RD 6, died April 16, 1977 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born April 7, 1905, in Bakersville, the son of W. Ira and Daisy Elizabeth (Bruner) Baker. A brother of Merle, Somerset RD 3; Mrs. Fred (Jean) Spangler, Somerset RD 6. Also survived by six nieces. Preceded in death by two brothers. A member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville. He graduated from Gettysburg Academy, 1926. Taught Greek and Latin for several years at Gettysburg Seminary. Veteran of World War II, he was a founder and co-owner of Oakhurst Tearoom. Friends are being received at Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Walter Startzel. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
