Savage, Md. He was unable to work the last year and a half, but was not bedfast much of the time. He was born in Greenville Township on March 26, 1899, a son of the late Solomon and Alwilda (Berkebile) Baker and lived 45 years and 8 months. Surviving are his wife, the former Martha L. Keefer, and three children, Betty Louise, Grace Elizabeth and Samuel Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. William Keefer, Meyersdale; Mrs. Samuel Mathias, Somerset, and Mrs. Jacob Baer and Mae Baker of Greenville Township and six brothers: Jesse, Meyersdale; Elmer, Cumberland, and Harvey F., George, Clarence A., and John, of Greenville Township. He was a member of the White Oak Reformed Church, but funeral services were conducted at St. Mark's Reformed Church in Pocahontas, at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29th, with Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger officiating. Interment in the Greenville Cemetery with Mortician Stanley M. Thomas in charge. Meyersdale Republican, November 30, 1944
