  BAKER
  
  George E. (Benny) Baker, 80, of Garrett, died Aug. 17, 1988, in Meyersdale
  Community Hospital.  Born March 18, 1908, in Garrett, a son of the late
  Rudolph and Sadie (Bittner) Baker.  Also preceded in death by his wife, the
  former Gretchen I. Tipton.  Survived by a son, Robert D., Mercersburg; three
  grandchildren: Dennis Baker, Mechanicsburg; Allen Baker, Mercersburg; and
  Mrs. Robyn Friedline, Somerset; also four great-grandchildren.  A brother of
  Emma Robertson and Ruth Sperry, both of Meyersdale.  A member of the
  U.M.W.A., L.O.O.M. Lodge No. 76, F.O.E. Lodge No. 1801, the Garrett Chamber
  of Commerece, Senior Citizens and a life member of the Garrett Volunteer
  Fire Department.  Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. (today) Thursday and 2-4
  and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services
  will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Robert Robertson
  officiating.  Interment, Highland Cemetery, Garrett.  Memorial contributions
  may take the form of donations to the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department.
