Baker, 76, of Somerset, died Feb. 8, 2002 at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 11, 1925 in Somerset Township, he is the son of the late Harry M. and Mario (Berkley) Baker. Also preceded in death by a grandson and sister, Dorothy. Survived by wife, the former Mary Lewis and these children: Martin and fiance Mary Miller of Friedens, Roger, married to former Hazel Emerick, Barry, married to former Deborah Putman both of Somerset, Kay; married to Terry Stanton of Grantsville, Md., William, married to former Sally Blatzer of Shanksville and Mary Ann, Harried to Tim Shaulis of Somerset. Fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and brother Charles Baker of Listie. Member of Roof Garden Christian Church, VFW Post 554, F.O.E. 1801. Army veteran of World War II where he was held a prisoner of war. Retired greens keeper at Somerset Country Club where he worked 34 years. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday with Roy A. Worsham officiating.
