Baker, 74, of 1314 30th St. NE, Canton, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 14, 1986, in the residence after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 30, 1911, in Berkley Mills, and had been a Canton resident since 1950. He retired in 1972, after 22 years of service, from Ford Motor Co., where he was a forger. He was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church and a life member of the Moose Lodge in Meyersdale. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Z. Baker, with whom he celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on Nov. 2, 1985; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald and Johanne Wagner, of Canton; Larry and Becky Baker, of Richville, Ohio; and Jerry and Jackie Baker, or Canal Fulton; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Pearl) Landis, of Richmond, VA and Mrs. Barbara Engle, of Meyersdale; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Format-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Maurice O. Gold officiating. Interment, Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, Ohio.
