  MERLE T. BAKER
  
    Merle T. Baker, 73, Somerset RD 3, and Palm Beach Shore, Fla., died May
  25, 1980, at St. Mary's Hospital, West Palm Beach, Fla.
    He was born Sept. 28, 1906, in Bakersville, son of William Ira and Daisey
  (Bruner) Baker.  He was preceded in death by brother, Ernest.  He is
  survived by widow, former Julia Morrocco, and these children: Mrs. Jane
  Yoder, Boswell; Joan, wife of Lee Donner, Meyersdale; and Merlene "Tootie"
  Gibbs, Somerset; also four grand-children.  He was the brother (of Jean,
  wife of Fred Spangler, Somerset RD 6.  He was retired from Merle T. Baker
  Lumber Co. in 1968, a former garage and motel owner in Bakersville.
    Friends were received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where
  services were held with the Rev. Walter Startzel and the Rev. Samuel
  Tomaselli officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Family
  requests contributions be made to Bakersville Lutheran Church or St.
  Peter's Catholic Church.
