  BAKER, Merle W. Sr. 03/27/05 The New Republic
  September 29, 1917 - March 27, 2005

    Merle W. Baker, Sr., 87, of Boynton, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at
  Meyersdale Medical Center.
    He was born September 29, 1917, to the late Zella Bowman.
    He is survived by his former wife, Margaret (Bittinger) Baker and these
  children: David Baker of Berlin; Merle Baker, Jr. of Boynton; and Sandra, wife
  of John Baer of Meyersdale. He is also survived by two grandchildren: Shayne
  and Sharad.
    Mr. Baker was a photographer, printer, Justice of the Peace, and a Dental
  Assistant. He enjoyed e-mailing friends on the computer. He was a member of the
  Oak Dale Mennonite Church.
    Friends were received from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 12-2 p.m., the
  time of service, Wednesday, at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home with Pastors
  Joe Byler and David Fetter officiating. Interment was in the Salisbury Cemetery.
    Arrangements were in charge of the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home.
