Baker, 93, Somerset RD 7, died April 9, 1984, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 13, 1890, in Lincoln Township, son of late Abram M. and Fannie (Casebeer) Baker. Also preceded in death by son, Elwood, and grandson, Richard Suder. Survived by wife, former Margie Stahl; and two children, Mrs. Clarence (Ethel) Lape, Somerset; Mrs. Jack (Hazel) Suder, Fair Oaks, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Mable Nair, Somerset. Member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church since 1909. Member and past master of Somerset Lodge No. 358 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Jaffa Shrine, Somerset Scotish Rite Club, Somerset County Shrine Club. Past president Edgewood Aerie No. 1801, F.O.E. Past master Somerset County and Somerset County Pamona Granges. Member of Pennsylvania and Somerset County Retired Teachers Associations. Taught school in Somerset area for 50 years. Served as township, school and county auditor. Death ends marriage of 71 years. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, the Rev. George Walton officiating. Interment, Casebeer Lutheran Cemetery. Body will lie in state at church from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home. Daily American, April 10, 1984 [B0256]
