Mr. Baker was first stricken about a year ago, and recovered, but about last December 1st he was again bedfast, and never recovered. He was aged 82 years and 26 days. Philip Baker was born at Shade Mill, Garrett County, on February 27, 1863, son of John and Catherine (Arnold) Baker. He married Annie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Miller of Greenville Township, and moved to the farm on which he died, about 60 years ago. His wife died in 1930. He is survived by two daughters, Etta, wife of Ludwig Neilson, of Frostburg, and Bessie, wife of Francis Winebrenner of Route 1, Salisbury; and six sons, Edward G., Allen and Arch Baker of Frostburg, Md.; Henry Baker of New Windsor, Md., and Cecil and Noah E. Baker, at home. Funeral services were conducted at the Johnson Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 26, by Rev. Watson E. Holley, pastor of the Methodist Church, Frostburg. Interment in the Johnson Church Cemetery, in charge of Jonas Durst & Sons, morticians. Meyersdale Republican, March 29, 1945
