Baker, 84, Stoystown RD 1 (Ferrellton), died Aug. 17, 1987, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 22, 1903, in Boswell, son of Andrew and Catherine (Nimitz) Baker (Pekar). Preceded in death by parents; brother, Andrew; and sister, Mary Garber. Survived by wife, the former Amelia Mildred "Millie" Zayaz; three sons: George, married to former Muriel Hardenbrook, Juneau, Alaska; John, married to former Dolores Frantz, York; and Paul, married to former Mary Virginia Hall, West Chester; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Founding member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boswell, where he and Mrs. Baker served as custodians for over 50 years. Also member of Jenner Local No. 1742, UM WA. Observed 64th wedding anniversary July 17, 1987. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
