  Ruth E. Ball, 90, Greensburg, died Oct. 2, 2005, in the Excela Health
  Westmoreland Regional Hospital. Born Oct. 14, 1914, in Jennerstown, a daughter
  of the late John and Emma Schmucker Walter. In addition to her parents, she is
  preceded in death by her husband, William Ball Jr. and a brother Eugene Walter.
  She is survived by a son, John W. Ball and his wife, Kathy, Greensburg; two
  daughters, Linda Thompson and her husband Dale, Murrysville and Judy Gibson and
  her husband, Bernard, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, Stephen
  Gibson, Stephanie Gladwell, Jennifer Reed, Todd Bahneman and Janet Yoder and 10
  great-grandchildren. She had been a member of the Church of the Brethren,
  Greensburg and worked election poll in Seventh Ward for many years. She was
  also a member of the AARP and enjoyed painting china. She had been a part-owner
  of Sliding Rock Golf Course in Jennerstown. Friends will be received from 3 to 5
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Barnhart Funeral Home, 505 E. Pittsburgh St.,
  Greensburg, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
  David Kenyon officiating. Private interment will follow in the Twin Valley
