  BALMER
  
  John E. Balmer, 58, of Lancaster, died Nov. 6, 1995, in Harrisburg. 
  Married to the former Barbara Ankney of Somerset.  Also survived by two
  sons: Dr. John E. Spartansburg and Thomas A. of Conestoga, and two
  daughters: Susan L. Ludwig of Dover and Julie A. Cunningham of New Holland;
  also four grandchildren and one brother, Harry E. Jr. of Hegins.  Employed
  by the Department of Public Welfare in Harrisburg.  Services will be held
  at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Landisville,
  Pa.  Viewing will be one hour prior to service at the church.  Graveside
  service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Bethany United Methodist
  Cemetery in Jefferson Township, Somerset County.  Family requests that
  flowers by omitted.  Contributions may be made to the Manor Ridge Lions
  Club, 2908 Spring Valley Road, Lancaster, Pa. 17601.
