Balya, 99, Central City, died May 6, 2002. Born Feb. 16, 1903, in Dunlo. The daughter of Michael and Mary (Goga) Antol. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Michael Jr. whom she married Oct. 30, 1923 at SS. Peter and Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Central City. Infant son Michael, sister, Mary Wissinger, brothers, Michael and George Antol, great-granddaughter Lauren Ann Naret, daughter-in-law Helen Balya and son-in-law Frank Naret. She is survived by these children: Daniel, Central City; William married to the former Lucille Oravec, Schellsburg; Mary Ann Naret, Central City. These grandchildren: Jeff (Sheilah), Mike (Helen), Frank (Mary), Rich (Kathy), Jim (Tina), Meri Ann Alt (Ron), Debbie Nelson (Skip) and 12 great-grandchildren. Sister of Ella (Antol) Buczala. A member of Graef Lutheran Church, Central City Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Order of the Eastern Star, founding group of the Shade-Central City Senior Center, past president of American Legion Post 449 Auxiliary and charter member of VFW Post 7457 Ladies Auxiliary. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Mulcahy Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Graef Lutheran Church in Cairnbrook. Pastor James A. McCormick Jr. officiating. Interment, SS. Peter and Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery.
