Baran 62, of Champion RD 1, died Friday, April 12, 1974, in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown, while undergoing surgery for injuries he received in a truck accident the previous day. The pick-up truck he was driving went out of control and struck a tree on a legislative route near Trent. Baran and his wife, Mary, 50, who was riding with him, were admitted to Somerset Community Hospital. He was later transferred to Memorial Hospital in Johnstown. Death was attributed to massive internal injuries received in the accident. Damage to his truck was estimated at $650. Born July 5, 1911, in Pittsburgh, Baran was a son of the late John and Frances Rzenzik Baran. Besides his wife, the former Mary E. Barclay, he is survived by six brothers, Albert, John, Frank, Chester, Edward and William, and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Zukiewicz, all of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 249. Funeral mass was said Monday morning in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, with Rev. Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. Interment in Scullion Cemetery under the direction of William J.
