He was born May 31, 1931, in Boswell, a son of the late Stanley and Helen B a r a n i a k . He is pre-ceded in death by son, Randy S. Baraniak in September 1992; sister, Anna Slizewski; and brothers, Pete Baraniak, Albert Baraniak and Frank Baraniak. On June 4, 1954, in Somerset, he married Caryl E. (Burke) Baraniak. She survives along with their children, Deborah Morris, and husband Monte Morris, Harrisburg; Bruce Baraniak, and fiancˇe Rebecca Johnson, M.D., Delaplane, Va.; Brian Baraniak, and wife Jackie (Myers) Baraniak, Duncannon; Patricia Williams, and husband Steve Williams, Everett; Jodi Baraniak, Bedford; Joni Baraniak, and Randy Raley, Duncansville; sisters, Dorothy Sokolsky, Boswell; Helen Pastuch, Boswell; and Pauline Kerch, Bethesda, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Eric, Krista, Joshua, Holly, Matthew, Steven, Brent, Nykkytta, and Starla; and a great-granddaughter Jada. Mr. Baraniak was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett. He is a graduate of Boswell High School, Class of 1949, and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the end of World War II, serving during the Korean War, for nearly four years as a communications specialist speed key operator (Morse Code) in Europe, attaining the rank of Airman First Class and also receiving the World War II Occupation Medal, Germany. Throughout his career, he was employed as a machinist, having retired from F.L. Smith Machine Co. in Duncansville in 1995 after 28 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, spending time with his family at the cabin on the Juniata River, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, proud new great-grand-father, and brother who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett. A prayer funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the Dalla Valle Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Norman Imgrund officiating. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be con-ducted by the Everett Honor Guard.
