Born Feb. 5, 1898, in Fiume di Nisi, Sicily, 1taly, daughter of the late Giuseppa (Urso) and Fortunato Fidi. Preceded in death by brother Santo Fidi and sister Nunziatta Fidi. Moved to the USA in 1927 and became a proud citizen of this country. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Barbera, who owned aud operated a shoe repair shop in Rockwood and Somerset. Survived by these children: Virginia, married to the recently deceased Russell (Ratsy) Crimone, Nathaniel A. Barbera, married to the former Anne M. Repetti, Josephine, married to Joseph J. Polakoski, and John J. Barbera, married to the former Carol L. Friedline, all of Somerset, and foster son Carl Nunnari of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also survived by 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. Loving mother and guiding matriarch of the Barbera family. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Vigil service at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, with the Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. Interment at Somerset County Memorial Park.
