BARCHUS Mrs. Edna McClure Barchus, 87, widow of John L. Barchus, Salisbury, died Wednesday morning, March 23 after a long illness at the Delaware Hospital, Wilmington, Del. She had been ill for some time at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. J. Edward Stouff, Downingtown. She was born Aug. 21, 1878, in McKeesport, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Q. A. McClure. On Oct. 10, 1899 she married John L. Barchus and came to Salisbury to live, whore her home has been ever since. Mr. Barchus, president of First National Bank of Salisbury, died Oct. 7, 1939. Mrs. Barchus was a member of the Baptist Church in McKeesport. In Salisbury she was active in the Brethren Church, and later in the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. She was a member of Great Crossing chapter, D.A.R., American Legion Auxiliary and the Priscilla Club and took an active part in these and other organizations. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, John McClure Barchus of Miami, Fla. and Salisbury; Mrs. Dorothy Stouff of Downingtown RD, and Daniel Q. Barchus, Melrose, Mass.; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and a sister, Emma McClure and Harry K. McClure bath of Salisbury. Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury Friday evening. Ladies of the Legion Auxilary [sic] held a memorial service for her at 7 o'clock. Funeral service was conducted by the Rev.
