Barclay, 70, Somerset RD 3, died March 14, 1985, Somerset Community Hospital. Born April 29, 1914, in Somerset Township, a son of the late Nelson A. and Annie (Gardner) Barclay. Preceded in death by three grandchildren. Survived by his wife, the former Goldie M. Beck; and these children: Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Ogline, Boswell RD 1; Mrs. Richard (Joan) Fritz, Friedens RD 1; George, Somerset RD 3; Mrs. Nancy Ross, Berlin RD 3; Mrs. Irwin (Dorothy) Eash, Stoystown RD 1; and Harold, Baton Rouge, La.; also 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A brother of Mrs. Clark (Carrie) Miller, Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Ray (Marian) Knupp, Somerset RD 6; and Earl W., Somerset. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville, where he served on the church council. He was a life-member of I.O.O.F. Lodge, Somerset; and a member of Laurel Ridge Sportsman's Association. He was a retired farmer. Death ends a marriage of 51 years. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Walter Startzell officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Daily American, March 15, 1985 [B0385]
