Barclay, 78, of Firestone Boulevard, Akron, Ohio, died Dec. 17, 1984, in City Hospital, Akron. Born July 21, 1906, in Somerset, a son of the late Dr. Arthur 0. and Margaret (Ream) Barclay. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Halverson; three sons: Ream Jr., Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; Richard A. and Robert L., both of Akron; one brother, Otto, Akron; and five grandchildren. He was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church, retired driver for Motor Cargo Inc., now Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of F&AM No. 680, Akron; Akron Consistory 32nd; Tadmore Shrine, Canton, Ohio; Akron Men's Garden Club; Teamsters Local, Akron; and served as trustee in Teamsters Retired Club; president of Motor Cargo Retirement Club and Reunion; Republican committeeman in Ward 7. Friends will be received 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today, Thursday, in Shermessers Funeral Home, Akron, where funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Friday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Additional viewing 10-11 a.m. Saturday in Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church with graveside rites at 11 a.m. in Casebeer Cemetery, the Rev. Harry C. Sherry officiating.
