Barkley, 80, of 219 Harmon St., Somerset, formerly of Listonburg, died Oct. 16, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. She was born May 12, 1920, in Confluence, a daughter of the late Charles D. and Cleo (Anderson) Troy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy "Pat" Barkley on Oct. 15, 1954, sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Groff, Virginia Larson and Ruth Walker Morse, and brothers Clifton "Chip" Troy, David "Bink" Troy and an infant brother Delmar. She is survived by brother Frank Troy and his wife Wilma (Kimmel) of Somerset and nieces and nephews. She owned and operated Barkley Lumber and Building Supply in Listonburg from the death of her husband until her retirement in 1968. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where a funeral service will follow with the Rev. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating. Interment, Addison Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Somerset County or Laurel Arts. Daily American, October 18, 2000 [B0409]
