Barkley, 85, Davidsville, passed away Nov. 22, 2006, at his home. Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Jerome, son of Lemon C. and Anna K. (Blough) Barkley. Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Owen and Calvin. Survived by wife of 63 years, the former Minnie G. Ott; children, Theodore A., Bristow, Va.; Pauline F., married to Charles A. Torisky, Pittsburgh; and Thomas E., married to the former Bridgett Barrett, Warren; grandchildren, Heather Seeno, Concord, Calif.; Thomas DuBois, Elkridge, Md.; and James DuBois, and Katherine and Charles Torisky, all of Pittsburgh; Charissa Solburg, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and Shawn Barkley, Warren; and great grandchildren, Skyler, Sage, David and Dominic Seeno, Concord, Calif.; and Elizabeth Solburg, Niagara Falls, N.Y. A 1939 graduate of the former Boswell High School, where he served as class valedictorian. Attended Juniata College. Served with the Civilian Public Service during World War II. An auto technician for former Hallman Chevrolet, Johnstown. Subsequently retired from Watkins Chevrolet, Boswell. A very active lifetime member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, where he served with his wife as a deacon for over 60 years. Was also a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir and served on numerous commissions. Was also active with the Western Pennsylvania District of the Church of the Brethren, where he served on the ministry commission. Volunteered at Camp Harmony and St. Francis Sharing and Caring. He was a devoted family man and an avid water sportsman, gardener and amateur photographer. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Minnie. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville. Viewing also from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Maple Spring Church, pastors Roger Forry, Ronald Beachley and Noah Martin officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
