    Viola E. Barkman, 71, Rockwood, passed on Jan. 29, 2008. Born Sept. 15, 1936,
  in Jefferson Township, the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Ella (Sleasman)
  Shaulis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1999;
  daughter, Laury Lynn; grandson, Michael; brother, Walter Shaulis; and sisters,
  Ada Dunmeyer, Bessie Ross, Gertrude Nicholson, Ethel Darby and Linda Sink. She
  is survived by her daughter, Sally, married to Robert Mack; sons, Terry
  Shaulis, married to Wendy (Mitchell), Robert Barkman, married to Jennifer
  (DeWitt), and Reno Barkman, married to Amy (Brant); grandchildren, Bobbie Jo,
  Eric, Savanna, Sydney, Jake, Benjamin, Maxwell, Adeline and Franklin;
  great-grandchildren, Kira and Austin; and brother, Thomas Shaulis. She was a
  stay-at-home mom and homemaker. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A graveside committal service will
  be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Union Cemetery in New Centerville. The Rev. Will
  Osman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to
  Messiah Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 126, Rockwood, PA 15557.
