BARMOY March 12, 1925 - October 10, 2003 Jack Barmoy, 78, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2003, at Sacred Heart Hospital, LaVale, Md. Born March 23, 1925, in Deal, he was preceded in death by his parents, N. H. Barmoy and Mary Jane (Austin) Barmoy. Mr. Barmoy was retired from the Western Maryland Railroad and the Chessie Railroad System. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served as a radio operator in the North Pacific and Gulf of Alaska. He was a 32-degree Mason, as well as a member of the LaVale United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sara J. Barmoy; a son, Herbert Barmoy and his wife, Chris, Cumberland, Md.; daughters: Jacklynn Barmoy and husband, Mike, Sitka, Alaska; Debbie Burdette, LaVale, Md.; and Juli Barmoy, Juneau, Alaska; a sister, Jane Page and husband, Joe, College Park, Md.; brothers: James Barmoy, LaVale, Md.; Ronald Barmoy and wife Jean, Frostburg, Md.; grandchildren: John and Christian Barmoy, Sarah and Orin Burdette; and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Friends were received at the Hafer Funeral Home, LaVale, on Sunday. A service was conducted at the funeral home on Monday with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating. Interment was in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the LaVale Rescue Squad or the LaVale Methodist Church.
