    Florence F. "Ferne" Barnaby, 86, of Lockport, died Aug. 22, 1998 at
  DeGraff Memorial Hospital.  Born Aug. 8, 1912, in Somerset, daughter of the
  late Ephraham and Vesta (Wittmeyer) Farling.  Predeceased by her husband,
  Robert G. Barnaby, who passed away in 1977; 3 sisters: Irene Wiggens, Mary
  Miller, Violet Farling, and 3 brothers: George, James and Frank Farling. 
  Mother of Richard (Nancy) Barnaby of Calif., Judith (Hank) Barren of
  Pendleton and Karen (Roger) Brooks of Angola.  Also survived by 8
  grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Member of Old Trinity Lutheran
  Church.  Worked the University of Buffalo at the Registars [sic] office for
  25 years.  She retired in 1975.  Member of Eastern Star (Betsy Ross-Levant
  Chapter) for 43 years.  No prior visitation.  A memorial service will be
  held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Cradle Beach Camp care of
  Buffalo News or DeGraff Adult Day Care.  Arrangements by Gaul Funeral Home,
