Born Aug. 17, 1935 in Windber, a daughter of Henry Manges and Violet (Smith) Manges-Stayrook. Preceded in death by parents, stepfather Glenn Stayrook, stepmother, Beulah (Coleman) Naugle-Stayrook, brothers, Kenneth Manges and Donald Stayrook. Survived by husband, James William Barndt, to whom she was married 46 years; two god-children, Abby May Sterner and William August Swope; brother Ronald Stayrook of Enterprise, Ala.; two stepsisters, Mrs. Ronald (Bonnie) Imler of Johnstown and Mrs. Shirley Stout of Gray. Member of Faith Lutheran Church. A 1953 graduate of Somerset High School. Worked as an income tax preparer and notary public. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Kenneth M. Diable officiating.
