Born Oct. 9, 1927, in Indiana County, a son of Ira Earl and Lucy Pearl (Miller) Barndt. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Justin Chappue; sister, Anna Mae Hochard; brothers, Earl Stewart and Robert W. Barndt. Survived by wife, the former Ada Pauline Lowry, to whom he was married 53 years; daughters, Mrs. Merle "Butch" (Margaret "Peggy") Mostoller, Boswell, and Mrs. Patricia D. Chappue, Somerset; grandchildren: Rachael Mostoller, Boswell, Mrs. Kermit (Greta) Stahl, Somerset, and Jarret Chappue, Mesa, Ariz.; great-grandchildren: Paige and Tessa StahL. Brother of Miss Emma Catherine Barndt, Somerset, Edward J. Barndt, Sipesville, Charles F. Barndt, New Florence, Mrs. Raymond (Grace) Raygor, Kettering, Ohio, Mrs. Irene Hart, Ligonier, James W. and Ralph B. Barndt, Somerset. Member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ. World War II veteran of U.S. Navy. Retired milk hauler. Also worked for Roy Hemminger Salvage Yard. No viewing or visitation. Memorial service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, Somerset. The Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Beer officiating. Interment, Edie Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Mt.
