Born June 21, 1920, in Friedens, a son of William Franklin and Anna (Eash) Barnett. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Merle Barnett and sister, LaVerne Smith. Survived by his wife, the former Helen Louetta Stairs to whom he was married 65 years; chil- dren, Carol A. Tilghman, Somerset; Thomas W. Barnett, married to the former Bonnie Morey, League City, Texas; Dennis R. Barnett, married to the former Miriam Smith, Somerset; 14 grand- children and 22 great-grand- children. Worked as a coal miner and supervisor for Scurfield Bros. Co. until his retirement in 1985. Also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Johnstown. A member of the FOE Aerie 1801, and the United Mine Workers Union. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening and especially con- versations with his family. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Robert Fisher officiating.
