Barnett, 87, Barnett Road, Boswell RD (Lincoln Township), died Dec. 24, 2000 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset. Born Oct. 25, 1913 in Lincoln Township, son of Albert A. and Agnes C. (Shaffer) Barnett. Preceded in death by parents, brother Charles A., and granddaughter Karen Marteeny. Survived by wife, the former Ida Mae Ogline; children Dr. Albert P., married to Kathy Bundy, Boswell RD; Connie, wife of William Marteeny, Friedens; James R., married to Susan Sanford, Strasburg; Susanne, wife of George Dull, Pittsburgh; and Deborah, wife of Terry Debo, Grapevine, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer (Barnett) Kimmel; Kimberly Barnett; Mark Marteeny; Christina (Barnett) Meyers; Jason Barnett; and Jocelyn Barnett; and great-grandchildren Mary Elizabeth Kimmel and Chandler Marteeny. Member of Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Somerset Pike, where he served as past president of the council and former secretary treasurer of the cemetery association. Also member of the Penn State University Alumni Association and the Nittany Lion Club; 1931 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1936 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in chemical engineering. Prominent retired dairy farmer and helped to organize the Dairy Dells 4-H club. Past president of the Somerset County Holstein Club and also past president of the Wheelers-N-Dealers Square Dance Club. Observed 61st wedding anniversary Sept. 4, 2000. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Christ Casebeer Church, the Rev. Dennis L. Doebler, pastor and the Rev. William J. Blair officiating. Interment, church cemetery. No viewing at church.
